Marbella Schools: Choosing the Right Fit for Your Family

Relocating to Marbella is an exciting journey, but for parents, choosing the right school is one of the most important decisions. The good news? Marbella is home to a diverse and well-established education system, offering a mix of British, American, German, Swedish, and French curricula, as well as alternative approaches like Montessori education.

Whether you’re looking for academic excellence, bilingual learning, or a nurturing, holistic environment, there’s a school in Marbella to suit every family’s needs.

Exploring Your Options

For families seeking an international education, top institutions like Swans International School, Aloha College, and The English International College offer British and IB programmes that prepare students for universities worldwide.

Those looking for bilingual or alternative approaches may be drawn to Laude San Pedro, which offers both British and Spanish curricula, or Casa del Mar Montessori, which fosters a child-centred learning environment.

Families wanting to maintain their home-country curriculum have access to Deutsche Schule Málaga, Lycée Français International Marbella, and Svenska Skolan Marbella, which follow German, French, and Swedish educational systems, respectively.

For students who wish to pursue an American-style education, The American College in Spain and Atlas American School provide U.S. High School Diplomas, Advanced Placement (AP) courses, and IB options.

What to Consider When Choosing a School

• Curriculum & Language – Do you want your child to follow a familiar system, or embrace a bilingual education?
• School Environment – Are smaller class sizes, a strong international mix, or a focus on creativity and sports important?
• Extracurricular Activities – Does the school offer programmes in music, sports, and the arts?
• Location & Facilities – Is the school close to home? Are there strong academic, sporting, and arts facilities?
